Lankayan Island is a virtually uninhabited island located in the Sulu Sea. This tiny island is covered by thick tropical jungle
that is surrounded by smooth, white sand - the perfect getaway.It has the only dive resort in Malaysias Sulu Sea called the
Lankayan Island Dive Resort and is one of the best spots for whale shark sightings. The location of the whale shark is usually
indicated by flocks of seabirds screeching high above the placid surface. With luck, divers and snorkellers may get close to this
gentle giant, although it wont stay close for long.
Among the 40 dive sites is Lankayan Wreck, where the remains of an ocean-going fishing boat can be explored. This wreck now
hosts many different species of fish from small glassfish, harlequin ghost pipefish, painted frogfish to giant grouper and
marbled stingrays.
A jewel-like tiny island in the Sulu Sea, a 1.5 hour boat rides north of Sandakan; Lankayan has been declared part of an
immense Marine Protected Area to adopt the eco-tourism concept. Unpopulated and covered by thick tropical island vegetation
on its topside, this peaceful, untouched little bit of paradise is ringed by an endless pure white sandy beach, offering simply
elegant and exquisite accommodation in all 23 wooden, roomy and perfectly appointed seafront chalets.
While the ideal destination for those who search for tranquility and relaxation in a virgin natural setting and for families with
children, Lankayan Island is also becoming one of the hottest diving destinations on the map today: its dive sites - all just a
few minutes away - boasting unbelievably colorful macro, fauna, fascinating wrecks and in season from March to May, regular
sightings of gigantic and harmless whale sharks, the "dream date " of every diver in the world.
Getting There
Lankayan Island Dive Resort is located on Lankayan Island and the nearest airport is Sandakan Airport in Sandakan town.
The resort pick up point is at the airport.

Boat transfers between Sandakan and Lankayan Island are available daily. Plan to arrive by 9 a.m. or earlier, otherwise you will
need to spend nights in Sandakan and only depart next day.
Fly to Sandakan Airport.
Routes to Sandakan:
Kota Kinabalu - Sandakan (BKI-SDK)
Kuala Lumpur - Sandakan (KUL-SDK).
There are also flights from Tawau to Sandakan, if you plan to visit Tawau before going to Sandakan (TWU-SDK).
The resort staff will meet you at the airport arrival hall.
15 minutes Bus shuttle to Sandakan Yacht Club, 15 minutes away.
2 hours Resort boat transfer leaves the yacht club at 10 a.m. to Lankayan Island Dive Resort. The journey will take 105 to 120
minutes.

Boat transfers between Sandakan and Lankayan Island are only available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; except within
July to September. Plan to depart on these days and take the 11 a.m. flight or later out of Sandakan.
Within July to September, boat transfers between Sandakan and Lankayan Island are available daily.
If you want to catch the Orang Utan feeding time at Sepilok at 10 a.m., we recommend taking the 2 p.m. flight or later out of
Sandakan. The Sepilok entrance fee is paid separately.
Resort boat transfer leaves the island at 7 a.m. to Sandakan Yacht Club.

A fuel surcharge of RM800 per booking will be imposed if the booking has less than (4)
adults. This will be waived if there are other guests on the same date of arrival and
departure.

07:00 am (once daily only). Please book flight that departs Sandakan after 1100hrs
Booking Request Standard Deadline (cooling-off period)
Upon inquiry, subjected to room availability, room will be held for 3 days only.
Should there be NO RECONFIRMATION within the given period, the temporary held room will be released by our booking
system automatically without further notification.
Once booking has been confirmed, a non-refundable deposit will be required to block the room. 30 days to arrival date where
full payment should be made to finalized the booking.
1.2 Deposit (Non-refundable deposit)
A non-refundable deposit of 50% /person (inclusive SST) is required to reserve space for you.
1.3 Full Payment (Final Payment)
Full/final payment is due 30 days prior to commencement of services. If full payment is not received by the due date, your
reservation will be cancelled and your full deposit will be retained. We are is not responsible for cancellation of reservation in
the event final balance is not received by the final payment date.
2. Bookings within thirty (30) days.
For reservations made within the final payment date of your vacation (in most cases, within 30 days of departure and subjected
to availability of accommodation), FULL PAYMENT is required at time of booking.
Extension stay request.
One may apply for extension of stay while at the resort but subjected to accommodation availability.
Participation
For the benefit of everyone at the resorts, we reserves the right to accept or reject any vacation participant and to remove any
participant whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the other participants. We will not refund or cover any
cost or expenses incurred for termination of vacation arrangements due to unacceptable behavior.
